Mechanically Industrialized Quality Engineer

Wheew.... Hmm???... What the heck!!!!. These are some thoughts you may be having after reading the title. I did coin this unique term and it may sound confusing or may be even funny but this is what my educational/professional qualification is. I have a B.E in Mechanical, M.S in Industrial and I am working as Quality Engineer. Looking back at my education, its funny how I started with something and ended up with something else. Isn't that one of the trait life has. The trait of being unpredictable and surprising. To survive or conquer this trait of life one has to change and adapt. Thats what I have done. I have changed with what life has offered me until now.
Getting a job exactly matching your qualification is like a dream now. I believe that every working individual has made some compromise in terms of seeking a 100% match for his or her educational qualification. If you ask me thats what life is all about. You would not always get what you want, of course do not give up the pursuit, but also be aware that you may never have it.
I love being a quality engineer. Although it started as a no option role for me I developed a passion for quality. In my brief professional experience I have learned a lot about quality. I would like to mention about my mentor who introduced me to the field of quality. Mr. Jerome Netko one of my supervisors from my previous jobs. He was one person from whom I learned a lot. The foundation for my career were laid when working with him and I attribute all the "quality" that I have to him. Now few years into my career with good knowledge about the field of quality, in retrospect, I am satisfied that life and its unpredictability brought me into this profession. I hope that life allows me to continue my passion for quality.

This one was when I had got a job in NY and was going to leave Wayne State University and Deroy apts where I lived.

kuch saalon pehle aaya tha akela..
chodd ke apna des...
naseeb hi tha woh mera..
jo mili deroy mein rehne ko place...

helen deroy ke baare mein kuch na kahoon to nainsaafi hogi...
cockroach aur bed bugs ki shaan mein kuch gustakhi hogi..

woh desi khane ki khusboo, woh trash ki badboo..
woh insaano se bhara hua elevator, woh chotse post box
mein ghusade huen hazaar letter..
woh unginat duplicate chabiyaan,jisse lagayin hazaar
topiyaan..
woh desiyon ka adda, woh chinkiyon ka chadda..

deroy ki mahanta kuch shabdon mein zahir karna mushkil
hain
deroy mein rahein bina yeh sab azmana mushkil hain

isi deroy mein mile mujhe mere sabhi yaar...
chote, mote thay yahan sabhi akaar ...
ek se ek hain yahaan kalakar...
kuch gaane mein mahir to kuch bajaate hain guitar...

koi bhi pareshaani ho inke paas iska hul hain..
inke saath rehke kuch bhi possible hain..
aapne gharwalon se door rehne ka mujhe koi gum nahin..
yeh sabhi dost gharwaloon se kum nahin..

kabhi kanda nahin to kabhi sugar nahin..
kabhi pita(bread) nahin to kabhi ata nahin..
kabhi doodh nahi to kabhi patti nahin..
lekin yahan dosti aur masti ki kabhi kami nahin...

inhi yaaron ke saath bitayein beete huye paalon ko hum
yaad karenge ...
jahan bhi jayenge mere doston ki shaan mein do shabd
jaroor kahenge...
inhi yaadgar palon ke liye main aapka aabhari hoon..
aur ab to mein PALL(company) ka karamchari hun..

alvida kehna ka man nahin
lekin apne paas dusra koi option nahin
H1 ka sawal hain
Is liye to yeh sab bawal hain..

agli mulakat Newyork mein hogi..
shayad beach pe mere saath ek gori hogi...
Fall colors dekhne ka plan karenge..
Isi bahane sabse phir se mil lenge...

Friday aapki sabki shaan mein party ka ayojan kiya
hain..
khane, pine aur dance ka prayojan kiya hain..
asha hain ki aap sab meri khushi mein shamil ho
payenge...
aapne yaar ko alvida kehne jaroor ayenge...

Light Le!!!!

If anybody reads the title of this post and knows hindi and english they will be inclined towards thinking that it means "get a tubelight". This is noway near the actual meaning of this term. This is the term that I heard first when I reached Detroit for my masters. My seniors at the university had picked me up and we were on our way to their apartment which was gonna be my temporary stay. During our drive from the airport, I heard this term several times and was a bit confused to what it actually meant. Initially I thought they were gonna pick up some tubelights on our way back to apt, but that did not seem right as why would they use this term once in every topic of discussion. Why would anybody talk so obsessively of buying tubelights. Then suddenly based on the context I realised what it meant. It means "take it easy". Its like a mixture of english and hindi. So now you know. There was also the marathi version of it "light ghe re!!!!". This term was used by every desi, and believe me I am not exaggerating. It was the term used by friends to suggest others to take it easy and that things will work out for the good.

So mamu life me light lena ka bole to take it easy!!!!! bole to apun bhi light le raha hain!!
